The University of Dar es salaam Business School (UDBS) invites you to  apply for and benefit from this unique opportunity for Tanzanian Entrepreneurs. This is a one year Co-Branded Advanced Certificate in

Entrepreneurship and Business Management programme designed and offered by UDBS in partnership with the Columbia Business School (CBS) of the United States of America (USA), which is one of the most reputable business schools in the world. The main objective of the programme is to develop critical competencies (knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits) for entrepreneurs to grow entrepreneurial businesses.

The programme has the following benefits: -

1. Skills and experience of the faculty from UDBS, and CBS

2. The programme is user-friendly, time conscious for entrepreneurs, where each course will involve practical lectures, project assignment, and close follow-up by facilitators, coaching, counseling and mentoring in order to make sure that the course makes a difference in your business.

3. Visits to participants' projects where each participant will benefit from the on-site support.

4. The programme is highly practical and action oriented (learning- by doing) where participants will be guided to apply the skills learnt in their businesses.

5. Participants will be supported, step by step to develop bankable business plans for growing their enterprises.

6. Participants will be connected with various sources of financial and non-financial services for their financial needs

7. Opportunity to participate in business forums and business plan competition organized by the UDBS through University of Dar es Salaam Entrepreneurship Center (UDEC) for your business visibility, links and
source of financial resources.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WOMEN APPLICANTS ONLY

The programme offers scholarships for qualifying women applicants from Goldman Sachs 10,000Women Initiative which cover full tuition fee, materials and support services for the this whole programme.

Start Date and Duration:

The programme will run on a modular basis with a total of five modules and a business planning project. The start date for the programme for the third intake is 6th July, 2011. Classes will run from 3:00pm to 7:30pm in
the evening for two weeks in the months of July, August, September, October in 2011 and two weeks in the months of January and February in 2012 followed by Business Mentorship and Planning project up to June 2012.

Entry Requirements:

1. The applicants must be holders of certificate, diploma, degree, and other equivalent qualifications from any reputable or recognized institution

2. Applicants must have good command of both spoken and written English

3. Applicants must be entrepreneurs/managers running own business(es)

4. Applicant must be able to follow the course without major interruptions

1. Collect the Application Form (or Scholarship Application Form for women entrepreneurs intending to apply for scholarships) from The Office of the

Dean University of Dar es Salaam Business School, UDBS Building (A), Office No. 310. The forms can also be downloaded from UDBS website: www.udbs.udsm.ac.tz, APPLICATION FORMS ARE ATTACHED TO THIS EMAIL

2. Completed forms should be returned to the Office of the Dean - University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) or email it to johnbaitani@udbs.udsm.ac.tz before 15th May 2011 but remember 'the early bird catches the early worm'!!

3. Application Forms (for those not applying for scholarships) must be accompanied by payment (or evidence thereof) of TZS 2,000,000/= (two million Tanzanian shillings only) fee which covers the tuition, materials and support services for the whole programme.
