TIB Corporate Bank donates 100 iron sheets to schools in Songwe Region

TIB Corporate bank has today donated 100 iron sheets to Songwe region in its bid to curb shortage of classrooms, teachers’ houses and toilet rooms in the region.

Songwe, which is among the newly announced regions, will use the iron sheets to roof several school classrooms in the region’s district of Mbozi, Momba, Ileje, Songwe and Tunduma.

Speaking at the handover event, TIB Corporate Bank Managing Director, Frank Nyabundege said the donation aimed at showing the banks commitment in supporting the education sector and augments government’s effort towards achieving improved education system in the country.

‘Government alone cannot successfully fund a functional educational system, so it’s important for us to support this cause by creating better environment for our future leaders to acquire education’ said Mr Nyabundege.

Thanking TIB Corporate Bank for their donation, Songwe Regional Commissioner, Honorable Chiku Gallawa expressed her gratitude for the donation pointing that it is very critical to support education saying only when children are educated can Tanzania be certain of its future economic and social development

‘We thank TIB Corporate bank for this support which supplements government’s effort to ensure that more and more children are educated, because no country in the world can develop without having an educated citizenry’ said honourable Gallawa.
