Official inauguration of Centre fo Digital Learning (CDL) & SUZA TV 27/12/16

On Tuesday 27th December, 2016 around 09.00 am the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) will be inaugurating its Centre for Digital Learning (CDL) and SUZA Television.

The event will take place at the Computing Block, Tunguu Campus where Honourable Riziki Pembe Juma, the Zanzibar Minister of Education and Vocational Training will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Through the sponsorship from the World Bank, SUZA has finalized the construction of modern studio for preparation and production of digital content for learning which will then be transmitted through SUZA Television.

Other stakeholders such as Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd have shown their interest to support the operation of SUZA Television.

The CDL and SUZA TV aim at providing our society, especially secondary school students with wide-ranging educational proficiency in various disciplines starting with science subjects and English language.

Other objectives apart from the above, CDL intends to coordinate the integration of Open Educational Resources (OERs) into our local curriculum, coordinate the production and usage of massive open online courses (MOOCs) as well as coordinating and manage online learning at the State University of Zanzibar.
