Doctor’s six-day cycle for Zanzibar hospitals

A doctor from North Somerset is hopping on the saddle to take part in his third bike ride around Zanzibar.

Dr Jonathan Rees, a parter at Tyntesfield Medical Group, is taking on the challenge to raise money for the Health Improvement Project Zanzibar (HIPZ).

He is a trustee of HIPZ which looks after two hospitals on the island.

He said: “Thanks to fantastic support from my family, friends, work colleagues and patients, I have raised over £13,000 for HIPZ to date.”

The hospitals provide healthcare for more than 250,000 people including primary care, surgery, dentistry and maternity and paediatric services.

Dr Rees will cycle for six days.
