JIMZ planted 250 trees today in an effort to protect the environment

 

 

 

JIMZ (Jumuiya ya Imarisha Mazingira Zanzibar) based at Kikwajuni constituency has a role of educating society especially students on protecting our environment.

 

Today the 16th April 2013 we planted 250 trees at Kizingo Beach near  Mnazimoja Hospital as part of our mission to protect the environment.

Students from Darajani Primary School, Kisiwandui Primary School, Mkunazini Primary School, Jangombe Primary School and Migombani Primary School participated on the event .

We would like thank every one who made the event possible providing much support and in particular Plant -for -the- Planet Foundation from Germany for  providing 150 T-shirts for participants .

We also thank Department of Forestry Zanzibar, Zanzibar Municipality Council, The Regional Commissioner Office (Urban West Region) and Ministry of Education Zanzibar for their support of making sure this event is succesful.

 

 JIMZ also reiterates the need of Environmental educational support (Training) and strong collaboration with other NGOs having similar goals and objectives. .
