Chevening Scholarship - Applications for 2013/14 now open

As you will probably know, we have now started the process of recruiting Chevening Scholars for 2013/14. As a Chevening alumnus you are, of course, in a good position to recommend people you know to apply for a Chevening Scholarship.
It would be enormously helpful, if you haven’t already done so, if you could tell potential applicants about our new website http://www.chevening.org/ and encourage them to apply. The website brings together all relevant information about the scheme and has a tailored page for every country. It is still being expanded but the site already has a comprehensive range of information about the 2013 application process (including deadlines for applying), how to research study opportunities, and the role of Chevening in over one hundred individual countries.
The site also has a facility for those interested in applying for awards to register their interest. They will then receive alerts at key times and are able to make enquires on issues not covered by the site directly to us. We would particularly appreciate your help in drawing the attention of potential candidates to this facility..
The site also contains details of the criteria for selecting Chevening Scholars and detailed guidance for applicants. There is a link to the electronic application system. As always, we are looking to attract those with clear leadership potential and the ability to influence the opinions of others. Candidates who can demonstrate these qualities, either through their career to date or other activities, are particularly welcome. Many countries have also indicated other, subject-based, priorities- these are set out on the individual country pages on the site.
As a “Chevener” we appreciate your help in spreading the word about this opportunity to good potential applicants.
Thank you in advance for your help.
