After a chance meeting between Peter Andre and the chairman of Health Improvement Project Zanzibar, the Mysterious Girl singer agreed to get behind the charitable cause.
The two men have been visiting Zanzibar together so that Peter can see the project and the difference it makes to the 60,000 residents.
Naturally, the tanned singer took along his TV crew to film his good work for his ITV2 show Peter Andre: My Life.

As well as writing about his experience in his New! magazine column, the 38-year-old has been busy tweeting about what he has been doing.
'Not so unlucky in love after all! Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and Hannah Tointon live together in the City
Peter flew out to the small island last Saturday and has been getting fully involved with all of the charity work as well as meeting the locals who have been benefiting from Health Improvement Project Zanzibar.
The first image that he posted was of him sitting with four children outside an orphanage.

He said: 'Here I am in Zanzibar working with my friend Dr Ru. We WILL make a difference'.
His trip to the area was eye opening as he met many people there suffering from a variety of illnesses.
He posted a picture of himself in a hospital and said: 'One of the many malaria infected children I have met in Zanzibar with @DrRuMac . Emotional but incredibly rewarding.'

Whilst on the island Peter made time to stop at one of his idols homes as he stood outside the house that Freddie Mercury once lived in.
The former Queen front man was born in Zanzibar and raised in that house until his family moved to India.
Andre obviously enjoyed spending time in the area and was moved by his experience.

e said: 'Loving Zanzibar. Visiting a school in makunduchi . One of best days ever today :))).'
Along his trip, the father-of-two visited a school and local villages that have benefited from the charity.
The reality TV star told peterandre.com: 'It has been so emotional but incredibly rewarding. It has certainly put life into perspective. I really want to help make a difference here.'

The legend: Mr Andre visited the house of one of his music idols, Freddie Mercury

Disgusting. These kids have everything: good education, much better quality of life than the UK, tasty food and hot weather. You can tell by the smiles on their faces that they are enjoying themselves so let's leave them be and help the UK first. The UK is the poorest, most deprived and most disgraced country in the world and these kids have it lucky living the high life over in sunny Africa, compared to us miserable Brits with no morals, no money, nothing. Stop all charity unless it starts at home. - Jenny, The disgraceful UK, 8/2/2012 16:15 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Are you genuinely that uneducated or is this simply to provoke a reaction?

The only way Peter 'CAN Puppet' Andre can get any pres these days, is to moan about his ex-wife or bang on about his kids!

Such negativity!! Zanzibar is a wonderful place, the people that live there don't know any different and its only till you see it that you realise how unlucky it is that such an amazing place has such poverty. kids i met were fascinated by my empty water bottle which i ended up giving away.. Such a little thing. time will tell over his involvement but i hope its genuine because the people i met in Zanzibar were so lovely, they really deserve some help.

It's a bit insensitive to go to Africa ostensibly to make a difference to African people's lives yet you're wearing a NY cap on your head as a British Australian celebrity. Or is is Australian Brit? Either way it just feels weird...

Zanzibar..? Makes perfect sense. Its one of the top 5 island destinations for luxury holidays. No doubt an all expenses paid trip in the name of charity. What a sleazebucket!

Hmmm I hope he does better than he did with his support for his good friend Nicola McLean on Big Brother. They are brothers in arms at persistantly attacking Katie Price in the media. Well, if Nicola says so...it must be tru!!!! Lie down with dogs Pete and you wake up with fleas.
