Zantel Partners with Peoples Bank of Zanzibar for a new Mobile Banking Service

Zanzibar, August 31, 2015: Zantel Tanzania has launched its partnership with Peoples Bank of Zanzibar to provide mobile banking services to their customers through Ezy Pesa mobile service, the partnership will enable EzyPesa customers to access their PBZ account via their mobile phone, transact on their bank accounts onto their mobile money accounts and vice versa. The service will also allow customers to get balance inquiry through Ezypesa, mini-statement through Ezypesa, transfer of cash from PBZ bank account to EzyPesa account.

This partnership between Zantel and PBZ will further enrich our customer’s experience by facilitating exchanges between Ezypesa and PBZ accounts, our customers will be able to conduct financial transactions quickly and in complete security.

Customers can now have more control of their finances through their phones making PBZ services more accessible to the common man, thus achieving the goal of financial inclusion for all. This partnership will enable clients to withdraw money from their bank accounts, deposit money, pay utilities, balance inquiry, inter-account fund transfer and buy airtime, this partnership with PBZ is an addition to the current TUKUZA service currently offered by Ezypesa to Zanzibar customers.
