International Inc. is in final negotiations with Pennyroyal Gibraltar Ltd for
The Ritz-Carlton, Zanzibar to be
developed within the Zanzibar Amber Resort mixed lifestyle community. Mr. Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing
Director Middle East and Africa for Marriott International visited the isle to
familiarize himself with the project and meet with a number of prominent
stakeholders in the tourism industry and the government of Zanzibar. This development will be a catalyst for
boosting premium tourism to the island.
Currently,
luxury brand The Ritz-Carlton has only one hotel in Africa located in
Cairo-Egypt, and Zanzibar Amber Resort is proud to welcome the luxury brand to
its portfolio.
The Ritz-Carlton. Zanzibar will occupy a l prime location on
the stunning north east coast. . The hotel design will combine modern
architecture, at the same time pay tribute to the destination of Zanzibar.
Zanzibar Amber Resort, a mixed-use project will
offer a retail souk, a tropical aqua park, a marina, an equestrian centre and
international polo club, along with further hotels. In addition, Zanzibar Amber
Resort will also feature East Africa’s first signature golf course, which is a
confirmed designed by Ernie Els. The owning company, Pennyroyal (Gibraltar)
Limited, is working in close collaboration with local stakeholders, including
the government and the Ministry of Environment, to master plan a
self-sufficient and sustainably designed community with energy plants,
agriculture, aquaculture and a private airport in the later stages of the
project.
