NOTICE
TO ALL MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS
All Medical and Dentists Practitioners are reminded that in terms of Section 10(1) of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act are required to apply to the Council for registration and license to practice. According to Section 22 of the same Act, It is an offence to practice Medicine, Surgery or Dentistry in Zanzibar unless is duly registered and licensed under the provision of this Act.
The Zanzibar Medical Council is currently carrying out an audit of practitioners who are practicing illegally and for whom necessary action should be taken.Pactitioners should, therefore, renew their practicing certificates annually when they fall due and ensure that they are always up-to-date.
For local doctors who have temporary registration should apply for permanent registration as soon as possible.
The Co-operation of employers of the above practitioners in checking the registration status of practitioners under them, and advising Council for those without valid practicing certificates, is requested.
