THE 16TH GRADUATION CEREMONY
The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is pleased to announce to the graduands and the general public that its16th graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday 30th December, 2020 at the Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein Conference Hall, Tunguu Campus from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm.
The ceremony will be officiated by the Chancellor of the State University of Zanzibar, His Excellency Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council. Candidates who successfully completed their studies and qualified for the award of Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees for the 2019/2020 academic year will be conferred their respective awards. The Chancellor will also award prizes to students who excelled in different academic courses and the best students’ overall winners prizes for each academic stream.
This is an important event, thus, all graduands are advised to attend and witness the climax of their academic pursuit. All prospective graduands who wish to attend the graduation ceremony are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Tshs. 25,000/-; this should be paid through the People’s Bank of Zanzibar Ltd or its Agents via Account No. 0404075000.
Rehearsal and gown collection
∙ Attendance to the rehearsal which will be held on Tuesday 29th December, 2020 from 9.00 a.m. is mandatory for all graduands who intend to participate in the Graduation Ceremony. Only those who will participate in the rehearsal will be allowed to attend the graduation ceremony. Awards for the missing graduands in the ceremony will be conferred in absentia.
∙ Graduation gowns will be available on hire basis starting from Friday 25th December, 2020 to the rehearsal day at the Main Campus, Tunguu from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
∙ The gowns must be returned within seven days after the ceremony. A penalty of Tsh. 5,000/= will be charged for each additional day.
Please note that:
- Graduands will have to sustain with their travel, meals and accommodation expenses during the rehearsals and graduation ceremony.
- No one will be allowed to enter the Graduation Hall after the entrance of His Excellency, the Chancellor; therefore, all participants should be seated by 8.30 a.m.
- Certificates will be ready for collection after two weeks from the graduation date.
