Zanzibar, May 26 (ONA) --- Said ali Mbarouk, Minister for Information,
Culture, Tourism and Sports at the Government of Zanzibar today received a
delegation from the Ministry of Heritage and Culture led by Hassan bin Mohammed
al-Lawati, Director General of Archaeology and Museums at the Ministry of
Heritage and Culture.
The conversation dealt with a number of historic landmarks in
Zanzibar, particularly those dating back to the Omani existence in Zanzibar.
During the visit, the Omani delegation expressed the desire of the
Ministry of Heritage and Culture to start conducting the technical studies to
restore some of the landmarks in Zanzibar within the framework of the joint
efforts between the two countries to highlight the importance of these historic
and archaeological landmarks.
The meeting also dealt with some of the artifacts related to the Omani
existence in Zanzibar and East Africa to be displayed in the Omani National
Museum, which is currently being constructed. The two sides also discussed the
potential of training some of Zanzibari cadres on the museum concepts in the
Sultanate.

ReplyDeleteMimi nadhani hata matatizo tuliyonayo sasa hivi Z'bar ya kubaguana na kutokuelewana yanatokana na urithi (legacy) ya Waarabu.
Kule kwao wote hawafahamiani, kila siku wanapigwa na wazungu kwa ujinga wao!
Ningesema tuwashukuru tu, kwa kutuletea Uislamu, lakini nimekumbuka Uislamu hapa uliletwa na Washiraz ambao kijografia ni watu wa kusini ya Iran.
'Wrong attitude' za waarabu ndizo hata zinazo itesa nchi ya Iran ambayo ndiyo pekee watu wake waliokwenda skuli.
Ndio maana kuna wakati waziri mmoja wa Kenya Moses Wetangulla: aliwahi kusema "It's a geographical accident for Kenya being in the horn of Africa which's close to Arabian peninsuler"
