In other words, the people of East Africa have a long and rich history about their cultures, traditions and political inclinations.
Abdularazak Gurnah, who is a Zanzibari and renowned professor of English Literature at Kent University, UK, has written a number of books on the people and societies of East Africa. He lives in UK and, on his recent visit to Zanzibar, has agreed to come and give a lecture at ZIRPP on this and other important issues of specific historical significance to the people of East Africa and specifically to Zanzibaris.
