SUZA and Bremen University research findings exposed

The research on Food & Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Water & Public Health which was conducted by the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) in collaboration with the University of Bremen, Germany disseminated its findings to the District Commissioners (DCs), Shehas of all Shehias of Unguja Island and other stakeholders.
The research was conducted between October and December, 2013 and involved 80 randomly selected wards from all districts of Unguja Island. A total of 235 families took part in the research in which all heads of the families entirely showed their cooperation in making it successful.

Dissemination was held at the conference hall of the Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH), Zanzibar Office on Sunday 18th September, 2016.The researchers, Ms. Maria Adam Nyangasa, a PhD student from the University of Bremen, Professor Sørge Kelm from the same University and Professor Mohammed Sheikh from the State University of Zanzibar presented the findings of their research which were then followed by sharing vital information with community members through discussion. They promised to submit the results of their findings to authorities concerned for further action which may lead to solving the problems found.

Opening the ceremony, Honourable Idrissa Kitwana Mustafa, the District Commissioner for Unguja South urged other higher learning institutions to stick on doing other researches which can benefit the community and nation as whole and return the feedback and findings to society concerned. He furthermore praised the researchers for commendable job they have performed.
