Hundreds of thousands of Tanzanians continue to join Bonga by day. “This is a clear indication of how Tanzanians have been longing for a single sim card to connect with friends, families and Business partners, “says Vodacom Managing Director Rene Meza.
The Bonga rush is due to Vodacom move to slash calls to other networks by 50% hardly a week ago. Vodacom Customers can now call for as low as Tsh1.5 per second, down from the previous Tsh3 per second. “This is the first time in the history of Telecommunications in Tanzania that calls to other networks have been reduced by such a Margin,” says Meza.
He goes on to say that mobile telephony is not a luxury but rather a necessity that should be accessed by all Tanzanians regardless of their income levels.

“We shall continue to be at the fore front of ensuring that our products are tailored to suit the communication needs of our customers. Bonga is therefore one such response.
“Bonga gives Customers the freedom to now make calls without the tiring need of swapping SIM cards. They can also continue using other services through this new development such as M-Pesa and internet without the need to swap SIM cards.
Customers are advised to dial *149*01# in order to subscribe to BONGA.
