Dar es Salaam, April 25, 2015: ZANTEL, a Malaria Safe Company joined hands with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, other Malaria Safe Companies, donors and civil society to commemorate the World Malaria Day (WMD) on April 25th, 2015.

The World Malaria Day theme provides a common platform for all malaria partners to showcase their successes in malaria control and unify diverse initiatives in the changing global context. Malaria-endemic countries have made incredible gains in malaria in the last decade, but sustaining them will take extra efforts until the job is finished and malaria is eliminated worldwide. The theme for 2015 is Invest in the future, Defeat malaria calling attention to the need to increase commitments in the new era of development, with Sustainable Development Goals.

In this year’s climax, we had a 5Km walk that started and ended at the Goat Race Grounds and the National World Malaria Day (NMWD) at the Mnazi Mmoja Grounds. The occasion of the NWMD was graced by the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Hon. Mr. Said Meck Sadick.
