TUMAINI LA MAISHA FESTIVAL: Art for a Cause

PARTNERING UP WITH TUMAINI LA MAISHA (TLM) TO
BRING TO YOU AN ENTERTAINMENT-PACKED
FUNDRAISING CONCERT AND FESTIVAL.

Another year of friendship and support between Nafasi Art Space and Tumaini La Maisha (TLM) has birthed the second annual TLM Festival. TLM is a member of The Union forInternational Cancer Control (UICC).

It is based at the Children's CancerWard, at Muhimbili National Hospital, and works closely with theTanzanian Ministry of Health and it’s centers to provide free and curative cancer treatment to children in Tanzania.Since their beginnings in 2011, TLM has taken a forward looking andassertive approach to childrens' cancer treatment, seeking always to bemuch more than a medical center to all of its young patients.

Thisapproach has meant including nutrition, housing options, schooling,play therapy and art/crafts as part of the healing process, all of which is provided to the children and their families free of charge.

The Tumaini La Maisha Festival at Nafasi Art Space will provide everyone with a chance to celebrate art, culture and music while raising awareness of childhood cancer and the crucial role currently played by TLM in the fight against childhood cancer in Tanzania.


This coming festival will celebrate this strength and zest for life, and invite everyone to support this worthwhile endeavor, however they can.


We invite you to join us this Saturday, 31STof August from 3pm-Late at 

Nafasi Art Space for an entertainment-packed art festival with a cause.


The day will kick off with a ChapChapChezaChildren’s dance workshop, then


followed with an exhibition opening displaying artworks created by the children of TLM in the main Exhibition hall together with Encounter exhibition. Another opening by Uhuru Republic at the Nafasi Gallery.


Delicious food will be available from Dar’s most loved barbeque Papa’s and Taste of Mexico. Pili’s cocktail, Christer’s juice and of course the Nafasi bar will serve local beer and soft drinks.

Live Music starts at 7pm on the main stage with performances byThe children of TLM doing a Dance show, the Sheroes, Grace Matata, Frankie Maston, Mandela (Ke), Uhuru Republic (Italy &Tz)and various other artists, who will show up to support them.


Entry is free. Donations will be appreciated!
